Beren Mining Co., Ltd was established in 2005 with 100% Mongolian ownership and investment. The iron ore beneficiation (processing) plant of the company, located in Tuvshruulekh county in Arkhangai province, was built and commissioned in 2007, and the company has the capacity to manufacture 250,000 metric tons of iron ore concentrates fines (with iron content of 64-67%) annually with using wet processing technologies.

Beren Mining company own a world class iron ore deposit in the area of Tuvshruulekh soum, Arkhangai province. The geological survey and drilling works have been conducted on the deposit since 1954 by various Soviet and Mongolian teams with major studies done between 1977 and 1979 and 2006 and 2009. The company’s operations are concentrated in Tuvshruulekh county which is 40 kms to the north of the county center, 20 kms from Ugiinuur county, 385 kms west from Ulaanbaatar. The area is directly connected to the high voltage main electricity grid and major cities by paved roads which are very important for expansion of operations. 

The company transitions into a public company starting from 2012 with significant changes to its structure and organization. The company’s short term plans are to expand its beneficiation capacity to 500,000 tons per year and to construct and commission a direct reduced iron plant 300 000 tons per year capacity by 2014.
